Most truck owners know the secret to keeping a vehicle in great working order is regular maintenance and corrosion protection, especially in the bed. The biggest culprits in causing corrosion or "Rusty Truck Bed Blight" are drop-in bed liners. Dirt and water get trapped between the bed and the liner and grind through the paint until bare metal is exposed. It doesn't take long before rust develops in areas you thought were protected. Poly-Tuff Coatings™ solves the problem beautifully with a sprayed-on Polyurea finish that works like a second skin only tougher. The even-textured surface looks factory installed and protects against scratches dings and chips.
When purchasing a new truck, inquire about the bed liner warranty,
and read the owners manual. Often it will tell you to expect the bedliner
to move under normal operation. The movement may cause finish damage.
Therefore damage caused by the bedliner is not covered.
Spray-on liners outperform
drop in liners as follows:
• Resale value
• Prevent rust and corrosion
• Theft proof, won't fly out
• Reduced load slippage
• Chemical and scratch resistant
• Available in a variety of colors
(match you vehicle color or incorporate an accent)
• Easy accessory installation and use
(no cutting to fit 5th wheels)
• Dampen noise and vibration
• Contour fit maximizes bed load space
• Easily repaired
• Airtight and watertight fit
DROP IN BED LINERS ALERT
Several vehicle fires have occurred at service stations as a result of customers filling portable metal gas cans that have been placed on plastic surfaces.
The fires have involved a gas can in the back of a pickup truck with a plastic bed liner. The insulating effect of the plastic surface prevents the static charge generated by the gasoline flowing into the gas can from grounding. As static charge builds, it can create a static spark between the gas can and the fuel nozzle. When the spark occurs within range of the gasoline vapor, a fire may occur.
Poly-Tuff Bed Savers™ bed liner have a bond directly to the truck bed, eliminating friction and grounding the static energy flow.
Cold Low Pressure Systems
2:1 chemical to hardener ratio
A major component of low-pressure systems is a device called a static mixer. The static mixer is a tube approximately 14 inches long which contains a series of baffles. Polyol and hardener are forced through the opposite end. This mixing process is lengthy (in terms of chemical reaction time) so the Polyol and hardener must be proportioned to allow the time for this mixing process to take place. The result is a two to one blend of Polyol verses hardener. While this blend accommodates the antiquated mixing process the result is a product which is softer, less abrasion resistant, and more likely to gouge and cut. Additionally, the slower setup time allows gravity to work on the obscured product making it more susceptible to runs, sages, and drips. Uniformity in the textured surface is difficult to obtain for even the most experienced applicator.
High Temperature and Pressure Systems
1:1 chemical to hardener ratio
The future of sprayed-on bed liners. These systems are the result of updated technology and consistently produce a high quality product. The one to one ratio achieved only with high pressure (2500PSI) and temperature (150°F) control systems produces a strong, durable blend of Polyurethane. The high temperature results in a set-up time of 5-10 seconds which allows for quick return to service. The fine spray pattern creates a consistent, even texture.
THE BEST!
"Poly-Tuff Bed Saver" Spray-on Liner
1:1 chemical to hardener ratio
Since 1996, Poly-Tuff Coatings has focused on providing the best product and service, at the best price. As you can see there have been many technological advancements over the last 30 to 40 years and we take pride in offering the most current technology. We achieve this through membership in industrial coatings development and training organizations and our dedication to quality. Unlike our competitors, we offer an advanced industrial spray-on bed liner coating called Polyurea. This upgrade shows a 10-15% increase in tensile, tear and abrasion resistance. In addition, an Ultra Violet protection package has been added to prolong the color stability and gloss retention 3-5 times greater than materials without the additive.
