It has been in use for over 15 years in such varied applications as roofing, tank linings, secondary containment, geotextile linings, architectural molded designs and interior wall systems. Polyurea coatings create a highly elastic waterproof coating system resistant to chemicals and abrasion. These fast-cure, no-VOC, low odor coatings are ideal for use in a broad range of industries because they offer high film build and dry in as little as 30 seconds. Because of their elasticity, polyurea coatings are ideal for substrates such as concrete, which tends to crack. As an elastomer, these coatings are not limited by extreme temperatures, while rigid coatings tend to crack as the substrate expands or contracts. Polyurea coatings are ideal for immersion service and also recommended for lining large diameter pipes, clear wells, filter beds, lift stations and digesters. Given that polyurea coatings combine high tensile strength and elastomeric properties with low permeability and high impact resistancy, they are ideal where tough, flexible protection is needed.
